Kathryn Anne Reed is a Financial Policy & IT Associate at the National Center for Policy Analysis and a Charles Koch Institute Internship Alumna. She authored a comprehensive issue brief on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's proposed rule that would have crippled the payday lending industry that is available on the NCPA website. At the NCPA, Ms. Reed handles desktop publishing, administers the exchange server and active directory, and performs research and writes about financial policy issues. Ms. Reed is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Recipient through the Westlake Academy World School and will take a B.A. in economics and finance with an applied math concentration from the University of Dallas in May of 2017. Ms. Reed is the Economics Department Tutor at the University of Dallas where she aids students in five undergraduate courses and one masters level course. The bulk of her educational and work experience is in economics, data analysis and working with statistical programs. Ms. Reed has found that statistical methods are an indispensable tool for pursuing knowledge and truth, thus she is keen on developing her skills in this area. She is competent with Stata 14 and excellent with Excel and regularly tutors students on those programs and on key statistical concepts. She has worked in geostatistical analysis for the North Texas Food Bank and thus is competent with ArcGIS by ESRI and types of clustering analysis. She possesses a working knowledge of Java from her Discrete Structures coursework and a solid foundation in SQL and SAS from self-driven study. Ms. Reed is a native Texan with strong familial ties who enjoys classical Latin literature, baroque era operatic voice, and caring for her Old English Sheepdogs Newcastle and Sundancer.
