Lisa Azar

My strong interest in public service was one of the main reasons I chose to attend UMass Law School. I am a recipient of the UMass Law Public Interest Law Fellowship (PILF), a highly competitive program, which includes a scholarship in exchange for a commitment to public service. As a UMass Law PILF I have pledged to devote my first four years after graduation to work as a public interest lawyer. My experience as a dental hygienist for the past twenty-four years has brought me to many different offices and clinical experiences. My ability to transition through multiple work places is one of the strengths that I can bring to any position. As a dental hygienist attention to detail along with time management is critical to patient care. These skills have been transferable to my experience as a law student and will similarly transfer to working as an attorney. It is critical to meet deadlines and as my prior experience demonstrates, I will bring the requisite good judgements, timeliness, accuracy, and overall professionalism to this profession.
