Work Experience

Summer Volunteer Intern at American Diabetes Association

I assisted with the planning and hosting of Tour de Cure and Father of the Year, two of the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) main fundraising events. For Tour de Cure, an annual cycling event, I assisted with compiling the logistical paperwork, setting up the event, managing volunteers, and take down of the event. For Father of the Year, I helped orchestrate and build the silent auction as well as assist running registration. I daily assisted with general clerical work: making phone calls, organizing files, making copies, scheduling emails using Convio, inputting donations into Maestro, scheduling interviews, press releases, social media posts and more.

Marketing Coordinator at Community Engagement

As the marketing coordinator, it is my responsibility to communicate between the various departments of campus life, our nonprofit partners, the Georgia College Inspiring Volunteers to Engage Center (The GIVE Center), the ENGAGE Department, the community engagement marketing team and students. I receive information about volunteer opportunities and approve the marketing request forms that are submitted by campus departments and registered student organizations. I prioritize marketing needs and delegate marketing tasks to each member of my team. I assist with training new members, run weekly marketing meetings, update the Community Engagement Calendar and more. My goal as Marketing Coordinator is to increase awareness on campus about service events, internally create a sustainable structure for the marketing team, and increase communication with campus departments and community partners.
