Within my duration at The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport Commission as a Purchasing Intern my responsibilities pertained to:
o Data-basing requisition forms, purchase orders, and bills of lading electronically through the company’s intranet (z drive)
o Monitoring correspondence between accounting personnel and vendors
o Actively participating as an integral member (and coordinator) of purchase board meetings while also meeting with purchase board members to obtain classified documents and funding
o Coordinating meetings with potential vendors
o Researching vendors applicable to needed stock
o Organizing incoming stock (within a warehouse environment), while also data-basing inventory levels
o Acquiring and compiling resources to be sold through airport sponsored Governor Deal Auction
o Completing daily tasks associated with maintenance and upkeep of warehouse facility
o Procuring automotive repair parts, cleaning supplies associated to terminal sanitation, and aircraft repair parts
o Acquired skills in the manual use of a pallet jack to efficiently and effectively organize large stock items in an effort to optimize available warehouse space
o Notable KPI’s (key performance indicators) achieved during internship included a 99% accuracy of inventory on hand -acknowledged through an Annual Inventory Audit- and a 100% accuracy of pallets delivered
