Under general supervision of the Department of Labor, Office of Veterans Services, this position oversees the administering of the Veterans Services statewide Program. As a Director 1 for the State of Indiana, the position: *Plans, coordinates and supervises the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) on Veteran and Employer service deliveries for employment and training programs *Develops and implements new initiatives in accordance with the department/division strategic plans and the Jobs for Veterans State Grant plan *Plans, coordinates and evaluates the training and work performance of Local Veteran Employment Representatives (LVERs) and Disabled Veteran Program Specialists (DVOPS) to ensure full achievement of JVSG program goals and objectives *Works collaboratively with the Department of Labor, Veteran Organizations, Employers, Workforce Development Boards, Government officials and Veterans to ensure the execution of the grant *Subject matter expert in accordance with Title 38 and related Veterans Program Letters *Establishes and maintains appropriate work processes, controls, and reporting functions * Assesses the efficient utilization of State Veterans Program resources * Provides leadership and direction to all agency staff engaged in the provision of employment services to Veterans Serves as a liaison between the DOL/VETS and DWD *Evaluates and improves current processes in the provision of employment services to veterans *Provides technical expertise in matters related to establishment and implementation of State Veterans Program policy and programs *Engages in public speaking or other presentations as requested or required *Keeps abreast of new developments related to Veteran Programs, related laws, rules, and regulations *Attends mandatory DOL-VETS training and other meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences.

*Responsible for the Company Retention Program for over 140 soldiers, maintaining no more than a 16% attrition rate *Counsel and mentor Soldiers and family members regarding Army benefits, programs, and opportunities *Subject matter expert on all facets of Army life to include reenlistment, transfer of education benefits, and reclassifications *Highly trained non-commissioned officer and a product of an arduous qualification process *Functions as a personal agent on behalf of commanders and the Department of the Army through the Army Retention Program *Utilizes: Microsoft Office, GIMS, Outlook, AKO, Enterprise Email, Unit alert Rosters and other various forms of communications to keep unit informed of policies, training and updates *Assists first line supervisors and administrative personnel on AWOL contact sheets and locating late, no show and missing soldiers for monthly accountability

*Regulates and monitors the flow of ammunition and explosives at a strategic level, thereby ensuring subordinate units are sucessfully meeting training and operational level exercises and mission timelines *Primarily responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing conventional ammunition, guided missiles, large rockets, explosives, and other ammunition and explosive related items *Performs maintenance (field and sustainment), modification, destruction and demilitarization on ammunition and explosive components *Assists in receipt, storage, issue, maintenance, modification, destruction and demilitarization of explosive items * Performs ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties using both automated and manual procedures *Operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to maneuver and distribute ammunition *Supervises team leader sergeants,enlisted soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties *Assists in the preparation of the transportation of ammunition, ammunition components and explosives *Assigned to intergration and distribution section of Sustainment Brigade, responsible for logistics and transportation of military commodities *Provides technical ammunition expertise to the Support Operations (SPO) Command for precise delivery of ammunition assets
