Miranda Dufresne

University of Detroit Mercy, Class of 2015
From Detroit, MI
As a dual Canadian/American citizen, born and raised in Ontario, Miranda traveled to Detroit to pursue her education at the University of Detroit Mercy's School of Architecture. She is a third year architecture student embarking on an educational journey that will one day allow her to become a part of Detroit's revival. She is compassionate in her field, coordinating the Mentoring Committee through the University of Detroit Mercys AIAS board, and always willing to take part in design-build programs intended for the growth of Detroit. Most recently she took part in the Jefferson Chalmers pop-up space project, volunteering her time to transform an abandoned space for the business of a Detroit pastry chef. Through these programs, Miranda has proven her desire to service people through architecture, and is seeking a winter cooperative education (co-op) position that will allow her to be part of community development. With two years of collegiate experience (including 3-D computer programming and design software), a past co-op position working with a collegiate Systems Design Engineering Team, and a previous job as a Student Painter, Miranda is determined to challenge her design skills in a professional architecturual setting. Her goal, as a student, is to be involved within the school and city community in order to discover her desires as a future designer.
