Activities

Interact Club

The Interact Club is a rotary club that focuses on community service and international service. We held a fundraiser at Applebee's to raise money for the Gift of Life Program. This program offers free medical services for children with heart defects in developing countries. Another fundraiser that we held was Dodge Ball Night and this event was held in order to raise money for veterans and military services.

GrandFriends

One of the main goals of GrandFriends is to raise money and donate it to the elderly citizens in our community. We also try to socialize with the elderly citizens who live in nursing homes so we create events such as the Holiday Social. The Holiday Social is held at Martin Luther Nursing Home and all of the members bring in homemade desserts and food and we also give away gifts through a raffle.

During my first semester at Hofstra, I joined SMACS. SMACS hold different events in order to intrigue students in science. Recently, I volunteered to help out at a girl scout's event. In this event, we demonstrated two small, fun experiments and explained the science behind it. Then the girl scouts do the same experiments at their seats with our help.
