Deciding to leave my country wasnt easy. Back in Ecuador, I spent most of my working years following my passion in Communications and Marketing by leading advertising campaigns and events for Colgate Palmolive, Noboa Corporation, and Bank of Guayaquil. But once in the United States, and due to my lack of the English language, I had to start all over again. I looked for positions that, in one way or another, could give me the knowledge I needed to build my experience in this country. I started at Customer Service (retail) selling clothing, training sales associates, working in inventory, and merchandising. Then, I moved to do some Marketing for a Real Estate company working with branding, social media, and events. Finally, I landed a position in a Research Center (Health) working with community outreach, marketing, and recruitment. However, I fall in love with Higher Education. I worked for a year in Student Affairs and I found my niche as an educator and developing strategies to improve enrollment and retention. I would say that some of my best qualities are foreseen market opportunities, creating a space where parties converge, been a leader to conquer projects, and a fast learner of technology applications.
