It's never too late to start over! I returned to college at 41 years of age. I joined the Paralegal Technology program under Professor Heather Joyner. I have excelled and have far exceeded my expectations. I have remained on the President's List all 3 semesters. I am the President of the Northwest Oxford campus chapter of Gamma Beta Phi. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I have been selected for Who's Who and I am the Outstanding Student for Paralegal Technology at the Oxford campus as well. I never dreamed that I would have been included in all of these honor societies or that I would be recognized for my academic achievements at this stage in life. I can't wait to graduate and I hope to make the world a better place!

Gamma Beta Phi

We are an honors and community service organization. We have come together as a group and decided on 3 group projects for the semester, as well as individual volunteer service work. I plan to continue my work with the community after graduating.

Work Experience

Paralegal Intern at North Mississippi Rural Legal Services

I am a Paralegal intern for a very fast-paced law office. I have gained experience in a variety of areas. I work for 2 separate attorneys with very different "teaching" styles. I have learned how to draft different types of legal documents, been able to interact with the clients, researched possible answers to legal issues, and have developed skills that will be very useful in my chosen career. I was able to obtain my Notary license which will make me an asset to any firm. I am honored to have been chosen to intern at such a wonderful place.
