Solar Decathlon at Georgia Tech is a 50+ person team organized similarly to a startup. As Georgia Tech's entry to the 2017 U.S. Department of Energy's International Solar Decathlon Competition, the organization must design, fundraise, build, market, and showcase an innovative net zero energy home. The marketing team is responsible for market potential, cost effectiveness, community outreach, press and media relations, and general publicity and advertising of the home. My specific duties on the marketing team include: • Develop and execute an extensive digital marketing plan • Coordinate with the fundraising team to develop cohesive presentations for fundraising meetings. • Design and maintain a digital marketing plan to generate public awareness of the project. • Establish relations with government agencies to generate support from the public sector. • Prepare a press kit and communicate with media agencies to promote publicity. • Oversee public relations to curate a positive public profile.

The finance team is responsible for raising and budgeting the capital necessary to support all aspects of the project. My specific duties on the fundraising team include: • Spearhead potential fundraising opportunities. • Foster professional relationships with corporations, potential donors, alumni, and other orgs. • Coordinate with the marketing team to build team synergy and maintain a cohesive business plan.

• Call prospective clients to gather relevant information to determine viability of his/her case. • Assist attorneys in communicating with Spanish-speaking clients through every step of their case. • Follow up with clients regularly to update them on the status of their case and answer questions.
