Art Practicum: Shinrin Yoku
Shinrin-yoku is the Japanese word literally translated to “forest bath,” it is a common practice in Japan in which you leisurely walk in nature with the intention of improving mental and physical health, a sort of nature therapy. The inspiration for these works came from my own shinrin-yoku and being in nature allowed me to think creatively. A series of three artworks made from painted, modular, and wet-folded origami was used to describe the feelings I had on these walks.
