Sorany Son was recognized for earning a spot on the Dean's List
The President's Honor List is awarded to students who maintain a 3.3 or higher GPA each semester while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours. Making the President's List is an amazing recognition and confidence booster that all students can attain. It is also a reminder of the hard work I put in each semester.

Eicosanoids are lipid mediators produced by cells with various functions in inflammatory processes. Some eicosanoids have pro-inflammatory functions while others prevent inflammation. Moreover, one of these lipid compounds, 5-deoxy-delta (12,14)-prostaglandin J2, has been shown to be involved in bacterial colonization during Salmonella infection. The Edelmann Lab's targeted metabolomics study showed that macrophages produce different eicosanoids in response to gram-negative infections, depending on the bacterial species and virulence of the strain. The functions of these eicosanoids on bacterial survival within macrophages remain unknown. The goal of this study is to determine whether treatment with synthetic eicosanoids leads to significant changes in bacterial uptake and/or survival within the infected host cells.
