Tawnya Becks

Majored in Business Administration, Minored in Human Resource Management
Ohio Christian University, Class of 2018
From Monroe, MI
I'm a mother of four beautiful children, ranging from 11 months to 17 years old. I'm in Adult Graduate Studies online because it works with my extremely hectic lifestyle and have learned so much about the Bible to the point that my witnessing and Bible study skills have increased and so has my confidence. I attend Monroe St. Church of God and absolutely love the freedom of worshiping my King and love how dedicated and loving my pastor is. My husband and I work very hard making sure our children are well rounded, not being too sheltered to gain experience in this every changing world, yet keep a positive outlook because Jesus has a plan and we know how it all ends. We are all looking forward to seeing Jesus on that GREAT day, but during our wait, we will succeed in life with commitment, taking one step at a time, and prayer to guide our paths. God bless all that have read my bio.

I have been on the Dean's List with Ohio Christian University since I enrolled. I take school very seriously and love the knowledge and growth I have received in all of my classes. I feel blessed to have found a University I can learn from online around my schedule, but still get a valuable education with specialty skills and unmatched education.

Director Of Operations and Executive Administrator at R&F Group / LED Technologies
Full operations in the administrative office. Hiring, strategic planning, marketing, and appointment setting are just a few tasks I do with my position.
June 2012 - Present
Service Manager and Brewery Manager at Granite City Food and Brewery Ltd. (GCFB)
In this job position, I learned the most because I trained in Minnesota, then opened restaurants in Rockford Illinois, Ft. Wayne Indiana, and Maumee Ohio. This is the job I hired more than 1,500 people, enhanced my human resource skills in relating to employee management and developing new employees to succeed in their job positions, while taking care of our customer base and controlling financial costs and supply. It's amazing how much you can gain when you are given chances of a lifetime.
February 2007 - July 2009
Service Manager at Smokey Bones
This job was bittersweet because not only did I have the chance to work with some of the best people in the world, but I got the chance to open and close the restaurant, we spent so much time trying to help flourish, yet did not happen. We had a first class team with management and employees, but the product appeal to the area was not there, therefore the sales suffered as a result, and my restaurant, along with 124 other's along the southern east coast closed as well. It was a time of growth, learning, team building, and sadness at the end. I had the opportunity to visit Florida for Serve Safe Training and Management enhancement classes, and also met so many cool and influential people that I will never forget.
April 2005 - May 2007
Front of the House Manager at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar
I stepped out in faith when I saw an ad they were hiring in the paper. This position was 15k more than I was making at Little Caesar's and required so much work experience and expertise in financial reporting and management that I did not have at the time, but was willing to learn and climb the professional ladder. I interviewed and received the job on the spot. God had His hand in that interview and this is how my career took off.
April 2003 - June 2005
Manager at Little Caesars Pizza
I was hired into this position as an hourly manager, achieving management skills such as human resource qualities, customer service skills, and helped with my financial report understanding of how a business is actually run. This was special because it was my first management position that was the starting of my upcoming years in management, and also the first job since I had my baby boy in November of 2000.
August 2001 - April 2003
Cashier and Kitchen at Arby's Restaurant Group Inc.
This was a job I was happy to be hired at, because it was the job after my first ever position in the work force. I felt as though I was climbing the work ladder and getting more valuable experience, which I learned so much from. I worked this job while attending my later years of High School.
February 1998 - June 2000
Bread stick distributor and Cashier at Fazoli's Italian Restaurant
This was my first job I ever had and I was 14 when I was hired. I feel so blessed to have been able to work outside of my home while attending High School at such an early age, because I gained so much confidence, public experience, and skills that I still use today.
