My name is Victoria Squirlock & I am in the 6 year Physician Assistant program at Seton Hall University. I have a passion for science, research, and helping others in the medical field. I have been working with my mother at the doctor's office she works at since I was around 8 years old; I would typically pull charts for doctors and clerical workers, but I loved the environment. Now, I work their every summer shadowing Physician Assistants, and continually get inspired by this amazing profession.

Church Community Service
Helping out at my local church is a way of serving the community. One time my church did a "Santa Breakfast;" first, we served the community breakfast, then a show was put on for entertainment, arts and crafts were put out for children, and parents were able to socialize. My service was served in smaller, more tedious acts like helping the parish sort old letters from the Deacon or make powerpoint presentations honoring a priest or important person in our church. I always love to help.

After my college classes, I would commute back home to work at the MEDLC after school program at the elementary schools in my town. During this MEDLC program, I would help children with their homework, care for them if they got hurt, and entertain them until their parents came home.

As a daycare aid, I would have to entertain, care for, and teach preschoolers. I worked with children from ages 5 months to 5 years old. I would have to teach them how to use scissors, read words, and change their diapers.

Clerical at Immedicenter
The Immedicenter is a urgent care/walk-in doctor's office in Clifton, New Jersey. I have been coming to work here with my mom since I was little, but I was official put on the pay-roll a couple of years ago. While working here, I helped out with clerical work. Sitting at the front desk, I got to see what goes on before and after a patient sees the doctor. I learned how to fill out charts, interact with patients, and use a doctoral computer system. I will be shadowing Physician Assistants here in the near future.

Babysitter at Babysitting
I have been babysitting since my freshman year in high school. From my cousins to all the children that live on my street, plus other families across town, I have been trusted with the care of children from the ages of 5 months to 13 years old. Parents trust me with their children and I am so glad that they have trust in me. Working with children is one of my favorite things to do.
