Yvonne English started her first company at the age of 24. That company, which was eventually sold, was a boutique consulting firm in Northern VA. Two years after founding the firm, she went to Toronto, Ontario, Canada for two years as an International Management Consultant for Manulife Financial/John Hancock. Upon her return to the US, she spent over 8 years at McGladrey in various roles including National Operations Director, coordinating the operation of nationwide pension offices with 5,000 clients with over $7 billion in assets.
During that time, Yvonne worked on side projects including an alternative energy project in TX and founded Salvagist.com, an online retailer of accessories made from recycled materials, which she sold to Earth Lover Shopping in 2010. Yvonne left the corporate world in 2011 to focus solely on entrepreneurial endeavors, detailed in the Experience Section.
She was named in the inaugural Top 40 Under 40 in Mercer and Lawrence Counties, and she and her ventures have been featured on ABC (33 WYTV) and on CBS (WKBN 27) as well as in Arizona Woman Magazine, The GeDunk (GCC Alumni), the Phoenix Business Journal, Youngstown Business Journal, the Vindicator, the Butler Eagle, KeystoneEdge.com, Views and Voices Magazine, the Sharon Herald, the Grove City College Annual Report, Kiva B4B, Oh-Penn Magazine, City of Hermitage Community Update, and Pittsburgh TEQ Magazine.
She has been a featured speaker for GCCs Delta Mu Deltas 2010 Induction Ceremony, Economics Pennsylvania (2013), Hope Banquet (2011), ATHENA International Womens Leadership Day (2012 & 2013), and the 85 Broads speaker panel on digital marketing for business. She is a member of the Discover Hope Speakers Bureau and was the Keynote Speaker for the 2013 NW PA STEM Conference.
She also had the honor of being selected by Congressman Kelly to serve as the District advisor for the 2014 Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Academic Competition.

I am honored to be able to now teach at my alma mater. I am blessed to be able to teach in a field of study that is my passion: Entrepreneurship.
In addition, I lead the GCC VentureLab which is a business idea lab designed to help GCC teams determine whether their business idea is feasible. We support the teams by providing business coaching, mentorship, networking opportunities, and funding.
