Zachary Clinchy

I am a Communications Major with a track in Marketing and Advertising. I have found a great interest in this field through my experience of being a campus representative for Vineyard Vines. I am responsible for on campus sales of customized Susquehanna University Vineyard Vines and Smathers and Branson apparel. I am also responsible for creating and managing social media for this business.I am also a Bachelor of Science minor student in psychology. After helping many friends and family with the situations and disorders of which they suffered, I knew psychology was a field of work for me. I personally knew many people that suffered from disorders such as depression, anxiety, addiction, and also people with special needs. I believe that psychology is one of the most important fields of study, it has an underlying value that everyone should be happy. I believe that community service and helping others is very important. In high school, I started a pediatric cancer club that supported children and their families that have been touched by pediatric cancer. I raised over $15,000 that went to the families and the children to support their burden of a terrible disease. I also did a lot of other community service with the key club. I devoted over 600 hours to help others in need. I did a lot from playing bingo with the elderly at retirement homes, handing books out to underprivileged kids, and Special Olympics. All of these experiences influenced my decision to be a psychology minor and to help others. With these experiences I also realized I have a great sense of leadership and teamwork, which has carried over to college. I am the class president of 2018 and I am a member and secretary of the Mens Rugby Team. I was one of six of the class of 2018 nominated and elected as a representative of the student conduct board. I have also received a job from the psychology department as a laboratory assistant and research assistant.
