Liaison to Provost - International Educational Programming at Fayetteville State University
• Collaborate with the University College, the Office of International Education, Department of World Languages and Cultures and Student Affairs, as a direct report to the Provost and Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs; consult with key campus stakeholders to increase and maintain the university’s participation in twelve global markets including China, Africa, Europe, and India.
• Design a comprehensive model of international expansion for the campus by providing curricular and co-curricular experiences and organizing programs that enrich the global competencies of faculty, and international and domestic students alike; develop host family programs, global mentors programs, and conversation partners to provide a forum for interaction and integration of international students into the community.
• Provide vision and creativity for the Office of International Education by assisting with all strategic planning efforts for the department; manage an on-going assessment plan to evaluate programs for effectiveness and to provide data on international student enrollment and needs.
• Maintain fiscal accountability and budget oversight of over $150,000 for designated programs.
• Expand international initiatives and collaborations on campus for international students.
• Apply for William J. Fulbright grants to host Fulbright Scholars-in-Residence and Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants each year; implement the work of these grantees to enhance campus globalization and to increase their presence in community K-12 schools.
• Serve on the International Education Advisory Committee and the Global Literacy Core Curriculum committee to provide a vision for internationalizing course curricula, as well as on the UNC General Administration International Education committee to administer international efforts at the system level.
• Harness technology to provide alternatives for students to increase their cross cultural competence.
