I worked with the Dean of Students Office to support first-year students as they embark on their Hamilton education. Although the peer mentoring program is open to any new student who desires a peer mentor, its purpose is to assist international, first-generation (first in the family to attend college) and historically underrepresented students with their transition to college life. As a Head Peer Mentor, I built a team of strong mentors and demonstrated social/cultural sensitivity, and Counseled and mediated mentor and mentee relationships throughout the year.
In the Office of Admission, I worked with new Deans to recruit, train and supervise a staff of first-year students to host prospective students visiting campus in need of a place to stay overnight. I analyzed visit applications and student data to match ideal pairs of prospective and current students who had similar interests.
