Creative Tech Club
Our club works to prepare prototypes for big named companies. For instance, we have used Dexter robots to collaborate with larger organizations sponsored by professionals. We have also showcased what we made around campus in several different NYIT events sponsored by the school. What we learned from this experience is that there are limitless opportunities in which we can evolve in our society as engineers. Instagram @creative_tech_nyit Photo taken by Jeff Becker

”A Bio-Inspired Approach to Research, Science and Education” Research program through the NYCOM Anatomy Department in the field of bioinspired robotics where as a group we decided on the species (Bluetongue skink) and research questions we are interested in testing. Our goal is to keep things simple and design experiments that can be answered only with motor control. Part of this work involves taking 3D joint kinematic data (animated in Maya) collected from the living animal and mapping these movements onto a set of four servo motors. From there I am able to help design parts of the robot that can be both functional, aesthetically pleasing, and biologically accurate.
