Jonathan Cadwell

I joined the United States Navy in August of 2012 to receive training on nuclear power plant operations and maintenance. I started off at Nuclear Field "A" school in Charleston, SC where I learned the basics of my future job in the navy as a nuclear machinists mate. From there I received training at Nuclear Power School to learn nuclear theory and physics. Then I went to Ballston Spa, NY to receive on the job training as a nuclear mechanical operator at MARF Prototype which is a nuclear testing platform. This is normally the completion of training but, while I was there I was selected to receive extra training as an Engineering Laboratory Technician at S8G Prototype to learn nuclear chemistry and radiological controls. Therefore, effectively changing my primary job in the fleet. Since completing ELT School in March of 2015 I have reported to the USS Abraham Lincoln to perform my duties in the fleet. I am currently working as a Dosimetry Technician and the 3M Work Center Supervisor and oversee the scheduling and coordination of dozens of maintenance items each week in my workcenter.
