Celeste Pittman

I graduated from the Waynesville School of Practical Nursing located inside the Waynesville Technical Academy. I was the only one in my class to get a community service reward for helping out at every event offered. This was an 11 month, 5 days a week program. This program, anywhere else, would have been 2 years long. I was able to excel under the pressure and in the end pass NCLEX PN on the first attempt.

Community Service Award

I graduated from my high school 4 months early. This was due to a car accident at the beginning of the year that hindered my ability to attend school in person. Even though there were set backs due to this, I did not let this hinder my learning. I was offered Missouri Options, this allows you to take the GED test. If you pass all sections with an 8 or above then you were able to walk to stage and graduate. I was told by my teacher that if you get a 15 or above you are considered to be at college level. I took the GED test once and passes each sections with scores above 15. I was proud of myself and shortly after passing, I started taking college classes.

I took notes from our student counsel meetings. I also helped plan and set up these events. I also filled in for the Vice President when they were not there or did not want to participate.

I helped plan, set up, attend, and pack up all of the community service events offered.

I helped plan trips to colleges and plan promotional activities to get people interested in visiting colleges.
