The College of St. Scholastica, Class of 2023
From Cloquet, MN
I have decided that I will succeed at earning a degree or two over the next few years. After being in the workforce for the last 35+ years, it is about time to do things for me that will help me to help others because that is what I am about. I am enjoying my time at St. Scholastica very much. When they say that they are an inclusive campus, they are true to their word. I have to say that I have felt very welcome in every aspect of this new college life.

Current member and Treasurer.
Administrative Assistant, Independent Living Specialist, Peer Support Specialist, Native American Outreach Specialist at North Country Independent Living
When I began working here, I was Admin Assist. and performed a variety of tasks to assist with organizing the non-profit agency. After some years, I decided to try my hand at helping people with disabilities realize their abilities and dreams. During that time, I also trained as a Peer Support Specialist due to my own severe depression after losing my love, Joe, to a terrible illness. I also filled a position of Outreach Specialist to the Native American communities in our service area in the eight northernmost counties of Wisconsin so that our agency could help to fill in needed services to people with disabilities in those smaller communities as well. After much agonizing, I decided to change my course slightly and return to college to earn a degree that would be transferable back to the disability community, for that is where I intend to serve upon my completion.
