Christine Saraceno
Christine A. Saraceno earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Hofstra University in May 2013, with NYS certification in Music K-12. Awards and honors include: Provosts Scholar, Deans List, the Bettina Palma Affisco Memorial Endowed Scholarship, the Herbert A. Deutsch Award for Excellence in the Field of Music Education, and the Samuel Baron Memorial Prize for placing first in the Long Island Flute Clubs Fourth Annual College Competition in February 2013. At Hofstra, Christine was an active member of both the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band for every semester in attendance. During her senior year, she served as Solo Piccolo for ensembles. During her sophomore and junior years, Christine was Principal Flutist of the Wind Ensemble. Additionally, she has spent six semesters playing flute and piccolo in the Hofstra Symphony Orchestra and has played in the pit orchestras for Hofstra Opera Theatre productions including: Die Fledermaus, Don Giovanni, and Alcina. At Hofstra, Christine performed in a shared junior recital and a solo senior recital, entitled Sonatas for Flute and Piccolo, under the direction of Professor Denise Lozano-Healey. Christine student taught in the Huntington School District. She is currently teaching private flute lessons and playing flute in the Northwinds Symphonic Band and Riverheads No Doubt World Famous Monday Night Band.
Christine Saraceno of Holbrook earned a perfect 4.0 GPA and has been named to the Provost's List. Christine, a senior, is majoring in Music Education.
