I began my ISU Carreer in the fall of 1981. I was not the most diligent student but did manage to pass a few classes in the 6 years I was here. In 1988 I was offered a position as estimator for my family's asphalt company. Dad asked me to try it for a season. "You can go back to ISU next year if you don't like it." 25+ years later I still love the asphalt business. I had always told myself that I would come back and finish my degree. I turned 50 in the fall of 2013 and decided it was time to start whittling away at that degree. I am now back attending one class per term while working full time in North Liberty Iowa (just down the road from that other school which shall not be named). I have a couple of classes that I can pick up at Kirkwood and if things go well I should have a degree in Civil Engineering in the spring of 2016. After that it will be time to start working on finishing my Economics degree.
