Lobby Day
Myself and two other members from the Waycross Campus of ASU attended Lobby Day in Atlanta, Georgia and listened to lobbyists plead their cases for the new legislation that would be voted on that was relevant to social work. We also listened to a legislator speak over lunch at The Loft.

SSPI at Department of Juvenile Justice
I am the SSPI (Social Service Provider I) A.K.A. Mental Health counselor for the youth at an RYDC. I provide screening, individual therapy, referrals, and more on a daily basis to the youth in our care.

I completed an internship with the same RYDC where I now work, where I interned under the former SSPII. I learned how to deliver the services required for the job and expanded my knowledge of how to practically apply the therapeutic skills and techniques I was learning in the Master's of Social Work program at Valdosta State University.

School Social Work Intern - Bachelor's Level at Appling County School System
I interned with an LCSW/School Social Worker. I was primarily in charge of the McKinney-Vento Caseload meeting the needs of homeless students as well as performing various other tasks and activities of a school social worker including organizing and advertising clothing and fundraising drives, participating in trick or treating with special education students (photo below) (a couple of my favorite and most memorable duties on the job).
