Majored in Caregiving Issues And Management
Georgia Southwestern State University, Class of 2019
From Atlanta, GA
How does someone with a social work degree end up in higher education? Working in higher education allows me to help students reach their goals and improve their lives while using the social work knowledge and skills that I love: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, advocacy, and mediating. My love for solving problems is the reason I love the project management and technical aspects of my job. Whether its troubleshooting issues with the BANNER student system (deep down I may be a computer geek!), assisting departments with implementing degree programs, or analyzing data to help make better decisions on how to serve our students-- I enjoy resolving issues and I'm good at putting out fires! When Im not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and cooking. I am also very interested in the issues of underrepresented students in higher education, family caregiver issues and grant writing. I recently completed the Grant Writing Certificate program through The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Currently, Im taking courses at Georgia Southwestern State University to complete their Caregiver Issues and Management Certificate. If our interest match, feel free to contact me about possible ways to collaborate!
