Freshman Common Reading Experience
I was able to join a panel of faculty members in a discussion of Jayne Thompson's "Letters to my Younger Self." Topics that arose included male/female predisposition to commit crime verses society inflicting an expectation upon people due to their gender, the responsibility of a school system to prevent crime verses the impossibility of making a lasting impression if home life is erratic, and government funding of the private prison industry.

Research Assistant to Dr. Anita Singh at Widener University Biomedical Engineering Lab
I have been working with Dr. Singh for the past several months, assisting with research inside and outside of the lab. The project I am currently assisting with concerns the leg bones of lab rats which have incurred SCI (spinal cord injuries). I am able to clean bones, break them using a three-point-bending instrument, and sort, record, and calculate results following the breakage.
