Ganesh Ghimire
I am an efficient, dynamic, and motivated Nepalese international with expertise in the area of Water Resources Engineering.
My expertise extends from hydrodynamic modeling, sediment transport, water resources statistics, hydrology, hydraulic and structural design of hydropower and irrigation schemes, civil construction through project commissioning and operation. The salient feature of my MSc thesis research was to develop a sediment transport and deposition (dredging) prediction model of Lower Ohio River at the Olmsted Locks and Dam employing HEC-RAS 5.0 1D/2D. The objective was to facilitate in the dredging quantity prediction and its schedule planning during the ongoing in-the-wet construction approach. Model was calibrated and cross-validated using the historical hydrographic survey data. In independent and group projects at SIUC, I have successfully demonstrated my modeling skills in ArcGIS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM, CCHE2D, Interactive Groundwater (IGW), IBM-SPSS Statistics and presented them. With notable experience in all the design stages of a structure, including planning, analysis and development, I am capable of performing research as well as deadline orientated jobs and producing detailed level of drawings and technical specifications from clients requirement standpoint.
