February, 05 2021 - Verified by College of the Holy CrossI worked for four months as a teacher's assistant at Promhandicam (in Yaound, Cameroon), a school which integrates disabled and non-disabled children so they can be educated together. This counted as one of my courses while I was studying abroad. I mainly worked with blind children, helping them learn to read and write braille, but I also worked closely with the other school children as well as with my advisors (the principal and a teacher). I taught some English, but I was mostly working with the students on their French curriculum. At the end of my internship, I presented it to a jury whom I had never met before (composed of local university professors), to my teacher, my advisors and to the director of the Middlebury Program in Cameroon, Ariane Ngabeu. I also wrote a full report on my internship.
