Haley Monts

I'm a senior at Grove City College with a major in English, minor in communications, and concentration in business writing. Post-graduation I am hoping to start a career in grant writing with an eye towards developing projects that support underserved communities and vulnerable populations. I was drawn to grant writing because I've always loved learning about new idea and approaches to old systems. As an INTP I just have a self-driven desire to improve upon traditional methods, and discover new boundaries of exploration. In seeing the world as a series of interrelated systems, I am always curious as to how we can develop better social structures that pull more people up and resolve long-ignored problems. While this can make me a bit of an independent worker, I still enjoy working in collaborative settings when it is with equally passionate people. I tend to excel in jobs that place me in an advisory role, as my strengths are Input, Analytical, Intellection, Deliberative, and Connectedness according to the Gallup Strength Finder. Skills like Input (absorbing new information), Intellection (developing one's own ideas), and Connectedness (learning from the insights of others) allow me internalize new information quickly, driving my curiosity for innovation. Coupled with Analytical and Deliberative, both which allow me to consider and deconstruct possibilities, I enjoy serving as a support strategist to those in executive roles.
