Academic Conference - "Incorporating the Past and Present to Fund a Better Future in Rome"
I presented at Holy Cross' first-ever Virtual Academic Conference! I prepared a lively slideshow of my experience abroad in Rome and how I used what I learned about the past and present of diversity in Italy to create my own fundraiser to support inclusion in Rome. I spoke about how I raised 320 euros (about $350) for QuestaeRoma, an organization that empowers people from marginalized racial minorities advocate for inclusion in public policies.

"Bringing the Hill to You" Through Holy Cross Zoom Backgrounds
I contacted my fellow photographers on the Spire to collect some scenic shots of campus for our community to use as Zoom backgrounds. I gathered a total of 25 photographs (many of which are from my own collection) for the Office of Student Affairs to add to their "Bringing the Hill to You" website. I am glad that I could keep the community close to Holy Cross through making our favorite pictures of campus available for others to use in their Zoom classes.

"Inspiring Comfort" at Holy Cross
An article I wrote before the college closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Published online later in the month. The topic of comfort in times of difficulty was very relevant. I am glad I attended the event about what we can learn from comfort dogs - the tips that our guest Jen Marr shared were useful.

Fundraiser for QuestaèRoma
During my semester abroad, I had the honor of meeting Susanna Twumwah, an activist who helps marginalized groups in Rome advocate for inclusion in Italian society. She lead a stirring discussion on Race in Italy that inspired me to do more for the community. I worked with the Temple University Rome administration to create my own fundraser for QuestaèRoma, the organization Susanna works for. I collected donations in exchange for prints of my favorite photographs and raised 320 euros (roughly $350) for QuestaèRoma. With this money, the organization can attend more events and help more people advocate for a more inclusive future in Rome.

Effects of General and Specific Language on Assigning Major to Gender
Project for my Research Methods course (PSYC 201) at Holy Cross. I worked with two of my classmates to create material for a project that analyzed whether college students were more likely to categorize people in vignettes as STEM majors if the characters were described in larger groups (i.e., "boys" or "girls"). We analyzed data with SPSS (a data-analysis program) and did not find significant differences between the number or gender of the characters in our stories. We presented these findings at the psychology department's 34th Research Colloquium.
