Jeffrey Poegel

I am currently a sophomore at the University of New Hampshire in pursuit of a Computer Science degree. I am looking for an internship for the summer of 2017 to advance my knowledge of computer science and to obtain real world experience. Even though I am only a sophomore, I have gained a plethora of experience from AP courses taken in high school as well as experience from my two internships during my freshmen year of college. Ever since I started programming, I knew I had the mind that would allow me to thrive in this industry. Abstract thinking and problem solving is something I excel at. Solving difficult problems in the work place, whether it's done individually or in groups, is a fascination that I look forward to each day. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated student that strives to increase his intellect by always working hard at school and work. Having taken the AP Computer Science course in high school, which focused on Java, and taken two semesters in college, which was also in Java, I have good understanding of the Java platform and Swing and AWT api. In addition to having a strong background in Java, I also have a familiarity with Cyber Security topics such penetration testing, which will allow me to be more security conscious when developing software. In the fall semester of my sophomore year, I am concurrently taking a class in C and C++. I also am working on two projects in my own time: one is a web-based multiplayer game in node.js and the other is a 3D game with a focus on terrain generation.
