Jonathan Cabrera

Majored in Applied Arts And Sciences, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Business
Rochester Institute of Technology, Class of 2020
From Lynn, MA
At Rochester Institute of Technology, I have successfully completed courses in manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and precision measurement. I can setup and operate milling machines, lathes, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, MTS tensile test machines, and grinders. I have experience in machining using a variety of materials such as carbon steel, brass, and aluminum, and can perform parts inspections using precision measurement tools. I also understand the concept of CNC machine codes and Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD & T). I have basic knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, Autodesk Fusion 360, Mastercam, Onshape, Siemens Unigraphics NX, and SolidWorks, and other software including Microsoft Office Suite. I am very organized, independent, and a quick learner. Also, I enjoy taking on new challenges. In the past six summers, I had cooperative experience at GE Aviation, GE Power & Water, and TelAztec LLC. I gained additional experience with teamwork, setting up, and operating a variety of machining equipment, such as the DPM milling machine, Logan lathe, and Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM). I also gained knowledge about how to use the machine on different materials, like Inconel, Rene, and Nickel-Chromium.
