Jordan O'Neal

Majoring in Biology
Fayetteville State University, Class of 2018
Hello! My name is Jordan ONeal and I am currently a senior at Fayetteville State University. I aspire to be a small animal veterinarian with a specialty in soft tissue and/or orthopedic surgery. My goal is to work with non-profit rescue groups that bring in animals from high kill shelters in order to provide medical aid for our furry friends. My education here provides me with transferable skills and an overall solid foundation that will carry me on to whichever path I may take to reach my goals!

Kennel Assistant at Seventy First Animal Hospital

I shadowed three veterinarians in order to learn about the entire clinical process. I worked alongside the doctors by assisting them with examinations, administering vaccinations and medications, surgeries, animal observations, patient after care, and animal restraint. As a kennel assistant, I was responsible for keeping up with maintenance duties inside the hospital. I also worked closely with the patients by cleaning their kennels, feeding them, walking them, and providing minimal grooming services, including nail grinds/trims, baths, and de shedding.
