Kelly is an art therapist. She is a graduate of the Art Therapy Master's degree program at Pratt Institute. She has had several volunteer and internship positions in this area of interest in the past, and is currently seeking employment. Kelly is also a ceramic instructor, working at the Rye Arts Center, where she has taught Pre-K, elementary aged and teens, for the last five years. Kelly continues to maintain her own artistic practice working in the Westchester County area. She works primarily in translucent porcelain, creating light sculptures as well as functional lighting. Emerging Artist Fellow at Clay Art Center
In this year long position, I am grateful to receive a grant which provides me a studio space at the Clay Art Center, as well as teaching opportunities and a materials stipend. The opportunity is highly geared towards incorporating more 'special-needs' groups into our regular curriculum. Many thanks to the Westchester Community Foundation and CAC!

Community Outreach Ceramic Instructor at Clay Art Center
As a Community Outreach Ceramic Instructor, I have the opportunity to teach ceramic classes to children and adults who are lacking in artistic opportunities due to geographical (school districts) and financial circumstance. I work within the Port Chester elementary schools, as well as on-site at the Clay Art Center. Additionally, I have taught ceramic classes with special needs populations, including the mentally ill, developmentally delayed, and Alzheimer's patients.

As a ceramic instructor at the Rye Arts Center, I work with students of many different age ranges. I work with our local Headstart groups, Pre-K, 6-8, 8-10, and teens. I am responsible for the loading and firing of all our instructors' student works.
