Majoring in Science Education-Biology
Trine University
From Lyons, OH
I was born and raised in Lyons, Ohio. I graduated from Evergreen High School in 2011, and chose to attend Trine University to pursue my passions of teaching and science. I currently attend Trine University as a Secondary Education Major specializing in Biology. I will graduate in May of 2015 with my bachelors in Education and Biology. I have been fortunate enough to experience many different field experiences in many different classes including: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, biology, anatomy, environmental science, and functional skills. My role and responsibilities including observering lessons, planning and executing my own personal lessons, assessing student knowledge, monitoring social and emotional development, collaborating with my cooperating teachers, and managing classroom behavior. I will be student teaching in the 2015 spring semester at Edgerton High School, and I am very excited for this upcoming adventure! This past summer I worked as a Summer Youth Employment Program Intern at ProMedica Hosital in Toledo, Ohio. Here I worked very closely with 75 students ranging from ages 16-20 as well as Toledo Hospital HR and Organizational Development staff. In this position I monitored student behavior, assessed student growing knowledge of workforce skills, collaborated with student superviors, and organized orientations and celebrations for the students. I am very excited to see where these students will end up in their future careers. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions, and explore my online portfolio. I look forward to hearing from you!
