Perform a comprehensive range of clinical functions in the 54-bed Medical Surgical/Stroke Unit. • Held responsibility as charge nurse for overseeing patient care and staffing assignments by coordinating patient placement with communication to bed control and balancing staffing needs according to unit census with communication to the nursing office. • Collaborated with multidisciplinary team members, working closely with physicians, nurses, technicians and therapists to formulate, implement and modify individual care plans. • Managed, coordinated care, and educated patients and family members on stroke risk and prevention. • Assessed patient’s condition; administer medication, I.V. maintenance, and record document into computerized Soarian System and Medication Administration System. • Monitored cardiac patients with telemetry monitoring and respond to medical emergencies as needed. • Maintained advocacy, ethical and quality care for each patient and family by building solid, trusting relationships and also with staff generating positive feedback and patient satisfaction. • Prepared patients for surgery and follow up care post surgery
