Mayah Pickett
I am currently a junior at Widener University majoring in Business Management. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I plan to get Masters in both Business Administration, as well as African American studies. I plan to spend my career educating, helping, and promoting the success or lack thereof of black owned businesses. Later in life, I hope to obtain my Ph.D in African American studies and go on to teach on the college level.

Civil Rights Cultural Immersion
In May of 2016, I, along with a group of other students from Widener University, participated in a Civil Rights Cultural Immersion which consisted of a trip to the southern United States to tour the key landmarks of the Civil Rights Movement of 1954-1968. We spent time in Atlanta, Georgia, Montgomery, Alabama, and Selma, Alabama learning about the origins and key events of the movement which then prompted me to change my major, as well as my career path.
