Megan Murphy

As a student at the University of Delaware, I am learning all of the necessities that I need to become a successful and qualified teacher. I have always been passionate about education, and therefore have wanted to teach for a majority of my life. To prepare myself for the teaching world, I have worked with children in many different settings, and have learned new things about children at each opportunity. Whether working as a nanny, camp counselor, or running birthday parties, each unique experience has slowly taught me more about the world I will be working in, and keeps me excited. In addition to outside work, I have taken many education classes at UD, and am transitioning into my second Student Teaching semester this spring (2018) of my senior year. A few of the courses I have completed at the University of Delaware required a field placement, which allowed me to get hands-on experience working with children in schools on multiple occasions. Each field placement and class has prepared me for the real world of teaching, and I feel confident that coming out of the University of Delaware I will be prepared to be an effective teacher who makes a difference in schools and inspires my students every day.
