My goal is to work more closely with youth in the areas of post-secondary education, college access and student support, retention, and persistence. I strongly believe that every student should receive the support to access and achieve their educational goals. My experiences working in the educational and nonprofit sectors enable me to draw on a variety of community outreach skills and resource knowledge to benefit the youth and families I serve. My personal experiences overcoming barriers faced by first-generation college, minority, and low-income students add to the breadth of student backgrounds I can relate to and serve in this line of work.

Student Recruitment Specialist at LAYC Career Academy Public Charter School

LAYC Career Academy (LAYCCA) PCS is a completely free public charter school in the Columbia Heights neighborhood open to D.C. residents ages 16-24 offering free GED prep, college credits, Medical Assistant training, and IT certifications. My role is to increase community awareness and recruit students to benefit from the secondary and post-secondary training that prepares students for college and careers.
