I will graduate in May with a Bachelors of Science in Geology. I worked in high volume restaurants for 15 years, so I am used to working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Throughout college I have worked as a computer lab assistant, a private tutor, and a supplemental instructor, in which I coordinated with teachers, students, and administrators. My work with the geology department has given me experience in the field, as well as helped me to develop laboratory and computer skills. I have experience with soil testing and am certified in chemical, biological, and macroinvertebrate water quality assurance. I have field experience in elementary and secondary classrooms, as well, after enrolling in GSW's education program last year.

Work Experience

Lab Assistant/Supplemental Instructor/Tutor at Georgia Southwestern State University

I work as an Earth Science tutor as well as a supplemental instructor. I tutor one-on-one and in large groups, guide students through material while catering to different learning styles. I mentor students in study techniques and track their progress to tailor instruction accordingly. Additionally, I work as a computer lab assistant, guiding students through the academic resource center, registering them for tutoring as needed, and helping them navigate school software.
