Olivia Blondheim was recognized for earning a scholarship
I was selected as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) Fellow. NSF Fellows benefit from a three-year annual stipend of $34,000 along with a $12,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees, opportunities for international research and professional development, and the freedom to conduct their own research at an at any accredited U.S. institution of graduate education they choose. This year, only 2,000 awardees were selected from more than 12,000 applicants from all 50 U.S. states, as well as the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. The NSF GRFP will fund the first three years of my Ph.D. in Integrative Biology at the Univesity of South Florida as I study the biomechanics and feeding behaviors of jellies.

Olivia Blondheim was recognized for earning a scholarship
I was selected as a recipient of the University of South Florida Presidential Doctoral Fellowship. As a USF Presidential Fellow, I will receive $25,000 per year, plus tuition, fees, and benefits, for up to five years. I will also be provided with up to $1,000 to support travel to research conferences to present my research.

The 4th International Symposium on the Effects of Climate Change on the World's Oceans
I was a co-keynote speaker at the 4th International Symposium on the Effects of Climate Change on the World's Oceans alongside Philippe Cousteau, the grandson of the legendary ocean explorer, Jacques Cousteau. We discussed how to better engage people with our research and conservation efforts by knowing our audience, being entertaining, and providing stories of hope and optimism.
