University of Rhode Island, Class of 2012
From North Kingstown, RI
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island, following rewarding scholarship of Gender and Women's Studies. Gender and Women's studies puts gender at the center of analysis and investigates oppression discourses, engaging race, class, sexuality, and gender combined. I was a teaching assistant, a writer for our newsletter, a representative at University events, overall and active and passionate member of my major. As a post-graduate I am going to work with the United Nations Development project and the Chilean Ministry of Education teaching English in Chile, and hope to continue to fight the feminization of poverty.
