Student at Emerson College majoring in Design/Technology
Ryan Healey was born and raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Ever since he could remember he wanted to be a theatrical technician. He credits his father with sparking his interest by bringing him to the national tour of The Producers. Ryan found himself dumbfounded by the elements of theatre. Since then, he enrolled in a 4 year electrical engineering program at his high school and held a three year professional internship at a local theatre. Ryan has worked with artists such as Lee Ann Womack, Clint Black, and Marshall Tucker on top of a large number of musicals and events. At Emerson, Ryan has done electrics work for Caucasian Chalk Circle, James and the Giant Peach, and is the Assistant Lighting Designer for the 36th Annual EVVY Awards. One day, Ryan hopes use his Emerson education to work for Cirque Du Soleil as a Technical Director or provide show support at the Walt Disney World parks.
"Much of my success is due to my passion for the arts, it drives me to create the best work possible by cutting no corners and maintaining full dedication. My skills in teamwork, electronics, and responsibility, as well as my drive, and excitement to work in such field set me apart from others with technical theatre training. I hope that with my engineering background in high school and by attending Emerson College I will be equipped to achieve my life goal of being in the technical theatre field."
