Santaro Muto

I am an enthusiastic filmmaker and have made a couple of short films for class projects. In the fall 2017 I will transfer to Emerson College, MA from SUNY Oneonta, NY, as a junior majoring Media Arts Production. I can think of no art form greater than film to adequately express the range of human emotion. A two-hour film has the power to deliver a life-changing narrative. Through film I want to make it my lifes ambition to inspire the audience and do great good and affect various changes in the world. As a Japanese student abroad, I have first hand experience with the challenges of familiarizing oneself with a new culture. Having immersed myself into extracurricular activities and leadership positions, I also understand the value of maintaining the uniqueness of individual cultures, as the result of not doing so results in a myopic society with no diversity, and little ability to cope with change. Im thankful for cherishing every precious meeting here through this continued journey.
