Employment Specialist: I work with individuals with developmental disabilities work on their Job Development by searching for job positions, applying for the position (usually online), creating a cover page and resume, meeting hiring managers, practicing interview skills, etc. all so the individual is set up to find work independently. Job Coach: I provide transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities to a job that they are "sampling". I try to increase natural supports, provide assistance when I am needed and provide methods to enable to individual to increase their independence working. Life Skills Coach: Instead of working in a secluded workshop, I work with individuals with developmental disabilities in their own environments to practice certain life skills determined in the individual's IEP, such as: laundry, using the ATM, making a grocery list and paying for the items, going to the gym, practicing public transportation, practicing speech, etc.
