Shae Rowlandson

Besides majoring in Biochemistry, I am minoring in Pharmacology. Outside of school I work in Colchester Research Facility in the Medical Endocrinology research program under Dr. Tom Jetton (and also under Dhananjay Gupta and Jana Kraft), studying the physiology of the pancreas and liver (along with the body as a whole, in concern with signal transduction), nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and endocrine disruptors, and how they are affiliated with the onset of Type I and II diabetes. I am currently studying my thesis with them as of now. I am also the president of Tri Beta biological honors society and take part of tutoring anyone that comes to our hours. I had been the academic chair of my fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, for over a year (and participate, now in the academic committee of the organization). Aside from school, I do my own literary analysis on exercise physiology and nutrition, and I not only train for physique, but I also coach anyone who seeks me as their physique and nutrition coach.

Besides the whole work jargon, I used to play rugby and water polo, but seeing I don't have the time to partake in them, I always stick to my old hobbies when I have the time- cooking, scuba diving, skiing, guitar, piloting aircraft (I'm a student pilot), drawing, swimming, wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, hiking, cliff jumping, fishing, and camping. I am also certified as an underwater naturalist and researcher through PADI and AWARE. Just get to know me if you really want to know more.
