Growing up I had a passion for learning which never seemed to be satisfied. I was immediately drawn to the technical field because of the fast paced environment and there was always something new to learn. Every day there is a new challenge and I learned to love the excitement which comes along with that challenge.
The past three summers I have worked at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. Every year I rotated to a different department. The first year I was there I worked for the North America Field Services department which helped develop my understanding of how customer service works inside a corporate environment. I was blessed with the opportunity to work part time in this department throughout the school year which helped me retain the information I learned during the summer.
The following summer I moved departments to the NA Corporate IT Business Intelligence team. Here I was able to develop my technical skills further. I learned to create SQL queries, design Cognos packages and cubes, and work with the Goodyear associates to build data driven reports for their needs.
This last summer I worked for the SAP BASIS team at Goodyear which proved to be a unique learning experience. Here I learned how system administration worked and also developed SAP knowledge. I believe these rotations really strengthened my personal and professional skills which gives me a head start in my career when I graduate college.
