Majoring in Chemical & Biological Engineering, Minoring in Catherine J. Randall Research Scholars Program
The University of Alabama, Class of 2019
From Boynton Beach, FL
Currently an undergraduate at the University of Alabama majoring in Chemical Engineering with a Minor in the prestigious Catherine J. Randall Research Scholars Program. I have demonstrated strong academic performance in all engineering related courses, maintaining a 3.931 GPA in my major. The extremely competitive Catherine J. Randall Research Scholars Program is a nationally recognized undergraduate research program which pairs academically elite students directly with leading research professors and cutting-edge computing technology to complete scholarly research projects in their field of study. I'm working with the Bara Research Group, which is focused on CO2 sequestration and the development of processes for clean energy generation that utilize new solvents with little or no volatility for scrubbing CO2 emissions. Lab work utilizing a densitometer, viscometer, vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) cell and the COSMOTherm software package. In addition to my engineering, physical sciences and research strengths, I bring to the table advanced computer skills (with cross-platform expertise in Windows and Mac); expertise in the MS Office suite of products; and familiarity with programming languages including C++ and Fortran. I've gained early valuable experience in collaborative team/relationship building and to each of the various business disciplines, including economics, finance, accounting, marketing, leadership, and operations management via the university's STEM Path to MBA Program. The purpose of the invitation only program is to provide high-achieving students with an accelerated path to gain the business knowledge needed to successfully manage high-tech businesses.
