Veronica Lazo

~~Verónica  Lazo was born and raised in Isabela, Puerto Rico; she is married and has two little girls. She moved to Madison in 1994 and since then she has established herself in the community, and has been impacted by many social issues during her professional career. She works at UNIDOS Against Domestic Violence as the Executive Director, where she provides advocacy and support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. In addition, she provides technical assistance, education session, and creates awareness events for our Latino and non-Latino community in Dane and surrounding counties.  Veronica is also the owner of MVF Art and Design, a small business that offers affordable access to art workshops for adults and youth in the process of healing.

Veronica began her education at the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico in 1992. In 2003, she obtained an associate’s degree in Graphic Design from Madison College. She continued to pursue her education and in 2005 she obtained an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts at Madison College. In 2012, Veronica received the AODA counseling certification from the Minority Counseling Institute, where she obtained here SAC-IT license. She is currently attending Edgewood College in Madison working towards completing a BA in Art Therapy.
